I am happy to be moving into a new month. :) Hoping that the heat disappears soon!

We are heading up to Utah for a few days the middle of this month. I look forward to some nice Utah weather.

Prince Charming has NOTHING on Dan

Dan is such a sweet husband! He has been so helpful this week. We have had a ton of things going on and my mom is out of town so I am taking care of her dogs and our puppy, which may not seem like a lot, but for me it can be. I am so lucky to have a sweet husband who helps me when I need it most!

Our Puppy will never learn his name because....

he has 1 million names.... the following are an assortment of things he gets called everyday:

Cutting Back Can be Fun, Right?

We have (or I have) decided Dan and I need to cut back a lot on our spending... no more going out to eat (unless we have a really good reason), no more text messaging, coupons may start getting cut, less driving (thankfully this one isn't too hard).

I am trying to think of other ways we could cut our spending. I think those are the big ones... I wish we could get rid of our cell phones all together but we won't be doing that. I have also thought about parking one of our cars and saving on car insurance.... but we will see.

Finished my Sewing Class

I am going to miss it! haha I learned a lot and I can see why my mom wanted me to take it. She even learned some stuff and she has been sewing since she was born! The nice part is, if I forget stuff, I can go back... its just kinda a pain lugging my sewing machine around. The best part of the class was that everyone else was minimum 30 years - 50 years older than me :)

I now know how to do an invisible hem, I know how to thread my machine with the special attachment, I can free motion (not well thou), I can program stitches in and sew names and other cutesy things on fabric. I told Dan I was going to put his name on all his clothes, he didn't like that much!

My first real sewing project on my new machine!

I have been going to a little sewing class on Tuesdays and I have actually been learning some pretty cool things about the sewing machine I got for my wedding! I have been wanting to make something on it using the things I learned, most of which has to do with clothing construction. I did not feel like making something for myself (thats just too much work and usually too depressing), so I made a little dress. I wish I could find a career in sewing!This is also what I did today to distract myself from having no internet and the wo's of trying to get our rental deposit and part of June rent back! What a nightmare!

Since I have had more free time, I have finally pulled out my new sewing machine and last Thursday I went to Enrichment where we were making Nursing Covers. This isn't the best picture but I like the fabrics of the 2 I made.
Today Dan and I went over to Lonna and Shane's for a BBQ with Matt, Christina & Charlie! It was soo much fun! I am so happy to be back in Arizona with my old friends!! I love them!

I need a job

Yesterday I was thinking I needed more projects, but looking at our bank account and budget, I realize I NEED A JOB! haha so if anyone knows of ANYTHING... I am not really too picky right now. I just want to do something...

Crazy Nightmare

I am really irked by a nightmare that woke me up this morning. I couldn't go back to sleep. I was dreaming that I was sitting in my mom's house in her computer room and for those of you that don't know, the computer room is just a nook behind the kitchen, just kinda an open space more than a room.

Anyway, in the nightmare it was pitch black and I was sitting in the computer chair. All of the sudden someone runs from the kitchen through the living room and I just get a glimpse as they run past. They were rather small and short... I then saw them try and reach for some pictures on the wall and I started trying to say "Hola" (no clue why) and ask "Who are you?" as well as panicking! The words were not coming out of my mouth. I finally was able to say something and as soon as I did they ran straight towards me and grabbed me and pulled me back in the chair.

This is when Dan grabs me and wakes me up because I am screaming "Who are you?" with raced breathing, I was so upset I had no idea what was going on. I am so glad Dan was there for me. No more nightmares please... I have never screamed in my sleep, this was a first! :(

Tiny Chewbacca Calkins

Tiny finally has a middle name. He doesn't bark really, but he makes Chewbacca noises and its hilarious... Dan wants me to change his name to Chewbacca instead of Tiny..... I don't know if I can do that thou lol

Tiny's first trip to the vet

Tiny had his first visit to the vet yesterday. He did great but he didn't start off very strong. As soon as we got in the office he started wailing like Chewbaca... I wasn't sure what was going on with him. They even asked if he is normally that skittish, and he is not! He finally calmed down and we went into the room where they weighed him and gave him his shots. I was suprised that he was so well behaved while getting his shots... he just sat there eating a cookie! I also didn't know that dogs have higher temp's than humans. Tiny's was 101. He also weighed in at 7.35 pounds. Go Tiny!

2 years together

We met 2 years ago. Yay us! We went to Cheesecake Factory again this year, it was so good but I couldn't even eat half of my meal. I adore Dan, he is so sweet to me. He tried to surprise me by buying the blue dress I am wearing below, but I ruined said surprise. He is such a good sport though!

I made my mom take our picture with Tiny... He is already starting to grow, it's hard to believe he will ever be bigger than 7 pounds! Seeing as I have no job and we have no children and only 1 car, Tiny is my life right now, which I don't mind. He keeps me busy and my mind off things that I can't control right now. I do look forward to finding a job soon (here's hoping that I can find one!) but taking care of Tiny when he is still this little will be good (I hope) for his behavior in the future.
