Another Sewing Project

I made the sash for my wedding dress...

Yay for wedding things!

My Parasol came!!! It matches perfectly with my shoes, the ties, the shirts, and the fabric for my red sash!!!

I am so excited! I will update this later when I pick up my veil this afternoon!!!

I'm sorry if I am mean

I don't mean to be mean but I am going through what seems to be some of the biggest anxiety inducing times of my life all at the same time. I don't expect anyone to understand. I don't expect anyone to help because right now its just an effing waiting game.

Its school, its church, its marriage, its work, its money, its food, its health, its stress, its everything all at once.

I won't even try and explain because I will be more relaxed in a few days.

Sewing Project

I just finished a fun sewing project. I was walking through the mall and saw something I thought was really cool, but not terribly difficult to make I must say, I asked the price and immediately turned around because it was ridiculous.


Here is a little glimpse.. but I am pretty proud, my sewing skills astounded me because I did the whole thing without a pattern (its not a piece of clothing so I didn't feel bad about doing it my way) but I did it by just looking at pictures. It was fun but my future Mother in Laws sewing room is like Amazing! She has the coolest cutting table that made cutting the whole thing out so easy!

Most Awkward Compliment About my Ring

So I usually get compliments about my Engagement Ring from strangers but yesterday was by far the most awkward one yet.

Setting: Alberstons Grocery picking up some Toilet Paper
Me: Tired after working 10 hours
Cashier: "Wow I like your ring" Pause Pause Pause "I used to have one just like it"
Me: I didn't have words for her.

Goodbye Swirly Parasol... Hello Plain Red One

So my parasol came and it was too orangy red... way different from the rest of our reds...

So I returned it and ordered this one:

This weekends Events

1) We signed our contract and paid our deposit for our apartment!

2) I ordered my custom veil that I am really excited about.

We found our Apartment!

I can't tell you how happy this makes me and how emotional I am and want to cry!

I won't go into the mess its been trying to find a place. But today we got a call from our top place that we can move into one of their apartments on July 7th (which happens to be the day after our honeymoon ends!!!)
We will be living at The Lilac Place in Provo at 353 E 300 N #65 on the 3rd floor starting in July! We need to sign the contract and pay the deposit and its ours! We are going to look at #65 tonight... we have seen the neighbors apartment but not our own! I think Dan will have to get used to having a small kitchen and small bathroom but I am so excited for a place to call our own!

Calkins Family Circle

So I am really excited to be a Calkins in less then 4 months! I am also very excited that about a month after Dan and I get married, his sister Lisa and Larry will be getting married (if he is back from sea)... Its fun to think that the family is kinda complete in the way of spouses and all... My family is almost complete, but Brett, and he is too young anyway to be married or dating anyone seriously.

I have met everyone in the immediate Calkins group except for Dave and Caroline. I won't get to meet them until our wedding but I am constantly hearing new things about their lives and how Dave is pretty much the cool older brother that they all look up to... The first time I got to speak with Caroline on the phone, I was almost in tears when I hung up over the sweet things she was saying about Dan. Its nice to know that a few other people in this world can see what I see in him.

Anyway I am excited, if you can't already tell from all my other posts. I am excited to get married but I can't wait for the day that we can put all the wedding stuff behind us and just be Brittany and Daniel Calkins.

Could I love anyone more?

Cute little cartoon movies have been making me cry

Lilo and Stitch, Surfs up, and Happy feet have all made me cry... I never cry during movies?!
