So big

My baby is getting so big! She hardly seems like a baby anymore. I could tell you numerous stories of people assuming she is older than she really is. If we go out to eat we are always asked if she wants a children's menu and something to color.

Last week I was asked by a 7 year old "what was wrong with her" because she can't walk. I told her she is just a baby and she responded with "she's bigger than my 2 year old cousin" which I later found out is very true.

I also asked a photographer this week at a studio in the mall when I stopped there with my friend Stacy about doing cake smashing photos for Ava's birthday in March. His response was "well we usually only do those for 1st birthdays, but I guess we could do it" :( it is her first birthday dude!

ANYWAY my nearly 9 month old weighs almost 23 pounds, probably about 30 inches tall, just starting to wear size 4 diapers today because size 3 are just way too short. She has just started to pick up cheerios with her finger and thumb, she says dada all the time but never mama. She has no teeth, she doesn't pull up on furniture, she doesn't crawl on her knees, she doesn't cruise and she doesn't eat table food very well. So ya thats my baby :)

OH and tonight is the 3rd night going to bed without a pacifier. No crying at all tonight :) just went right to sleep! YAY. She is pretty much pacifier free now aside from possible nap time use! Over are the days of plugging the pacifier back in, finding it for her in the car, getting up in the night to give it back to her, endlessly cleaning it, melt downs because she doesn't have it.

Update

My baby girl is going to be 5 months on Sunday. I can't believe she is almost 1/2 a year old. How did that happen!? She is over 18 pounds now but I don't know exactly how much she weighs. She has been wearing size 2 diapers for a little too long but I was determined to make them work a little while longer because we had so many. They fit great around the middle but are finally getting way too short in back. That's the story of Ava though, long torso baby with a little middle. But today we start size 3 diapers :) Hopefully she can stay in this size for a little while longer than 1 or 2's cause we have a lot of size 3 diapers!

Yesterday we weighed her car seat (with her in it) on the scale and it is nearly 30 pounds!! OMG its sooo heavy to lug 30 pounds around. I am dreading getting a new car seat though with our car because it will be even harder to get her in and out with only 2 doors. Will we ever get a new car?? We need to start saving money so we can upgrade soon.

Wow where did May go!

Seriously? I spent so long waiting for March I have completely lost track of the months and hello its June tomorrow!! What the heck!

Dan is out of town with my brothers and dad at the Indy 500! He is having a great time, I however.... am having lots of fun doing everything on my own. Really REALLY didn't understand how much Dan does for Ava and I till the last 72 hours have rolled by slowly and we have 2 days left!
Ava really is a Daddy's girl. She has always always been more calm around Dan and whenever he talks to her she is so happy! Dan called us tonight and I set the cell on speaker on Ava's chest, oh my goodness, she was the happiest baby in the world! I even got a really cute picture of her smiling away while Dan spoke to her. Then it was all water works once he hung up the phone! Oh boy.
Ava is doing great, she is growing like crazy but it seems lately that she is growing taller faster than she is growing wider, because of this she is already in size 6-9 month clothes for the length but still fits in size 1 diapers because of her small midsection... Maybe she'll be a model and not inherit some of our bad genetics :)

Today will be her first official day starting size 2 diapers. I have been mixing size 2 luvs with size 1 huggies. Size 1's fit her great around her belly but we need more absorbency now that she is sleeping longer at night, the past few mornings I have woken up to a wet Ava :)

She's growing

I got the idea today when I was getting Ava dressed to stick her back in this outfit after 2 weeks... She was 1 week old and almost 8 pounds in the first photo and just over 3 weeks and 10 pounds in the 2nd photo. The onesie barely fits now.

She is on her last 4 newborn diapers today then we will move up to size 1's. She can still fit in some of her newborn clothes as long as they are not footie pj's because she has gotten too long for those. Aw my baby is growing up.

We also got our hospital bills today. I am hoping a miracle happens soon so that we can get our head above water with our bills. Ava is worth it but it doesn't look like a brother or a sister is in the remote future for Ava.
