The Story of the Heat Stamp & Tie!
Skip to which ever sounds most interesting to you... (none of which probably, but they are all interesting to me!)
HEAT:
So today I was pretty happy about having electricity and heat for the first time this week. My roommates are making a formal compliant and asking for compensation to BYU. BYU sets up our mediation and we basically take our landlord in and hopefully something will get done about all the problems we have had this year.

We typed up a 5 page summary of all the bad things that they have done this year and what we want! The heat was like the final HUGE straw that broke the camels back... You put SEVEN girls in a house for 3 days without HEAT OR LIGHT during midterms and there is HELL to pay!
STAMP:
I stopped by the post office today to ask one of the post men if he knew if I could get pretty stamps the week that the rate changes... He said NO! He said they release new stamps a few weeks later and for the first month or so its only flag stamps. He said the only way I could do pretty stamps was to buy 41 cent stamps I liked and then add the 1 cent stamp too it. EH I thought to myself... Pretty stamp would then look cluttered by UNpretty 1 cent stamp and seeing as I am a matching FREAK! I am sticking with the liberty bell forever stamps... They go in the trash before the announcement does anyway, Right!?
TIE:
I had a fantastic find today!!! I had found some ties online for my wedding that I really loved. They had them in XL Regular and Kids, all the same color and they were silk! I really loved them and the fact that the site had Free shipping and 30 day money back return policy! I was caught up thou on the fact that they were going to cost me a ton. I kept telling myself, ties for one day for all the guys to match should not be this much and I was sure I could find something cheaper.

So I went to the local tie store in the mall... What a hellishly fun event that has been over the last 3 weeks! Trying to get those moronic 16 year olds to tell me own to get 5 of the same color xl tie at one store was like trying to teach my dog French! I told Dan that the only reason putting up with their crap was worth it was the fact that the ties seemed to be a pretty good quality, they matched and they were CHEAP.

LONG STORY SHORT! I found today that the original ties I wanted were on SALE! (well the XL) and we needed 6 of those so it was divine!

As the table turns
So no fun stamps for us on our wedding invitations. We are planning on sending our invites out on the 19th or so of May (somewhere around then) and the stamp price changes to 42 cents on the 12th! So I don't know if their will be any nice 42 cent stamps that week. I was going to buy 41 cent ones but I don't want to stick 1 cent stamps all over.
So whatever!
Mary Dempsey helped me figure out finally what I am doing for my centerpieces. She guided my mental ideas and encouraged me to look for an interesting red vase and I found these fantastic hand blown blood red vases that are about 12 inches tall... They have a small opening at the top and are the perfect fit for my three flowers!
They will go on top of mirrors which will go on top of our red square toppers... So the same flowers from the last post will be the 3 flowers in each of the vases.
We finally settled on doing some flowers for the bridesmaids to hold and I ordered my flowers from Cactus Flowers in Tempe. My sister in law Kate used them for her wedding. I am so excited!
We finally have found enough Christmas lights for our reception. We did not buy enough right after Christmas and found it near impossible to find them off season, but thanks to posting my need on Craigs List, a very nice old retired man had 60 boxes of lights unopened that he had gotten from Lowe's after Christmas and was willing to part with them for below what we found them in December! I am very thankful to him!
So my original ideas have changed over the last 4 months and we have 4 months to go until our wedding! But hey, I figure my ideas can't change too much anymore now that we have actually purchased a lot of the items we will need!
So whatever!

I am not entirely sure what the theme of my wedding is but this is how its going
Bridesmaids outfits... Matt's wife Kandice was the first to try on the whole look... Her shirt and skirt both need to be hemmed like 4 inches but its getting there..
Possibly what I do for my wedding flowers...
I want a parasol! (Dan laughs every time I say this!)
And Paper Lanterns like these (no pink)!

I love these stamps for the invitations...

Update on life
The past few weeks have gone by in a flash. We are down to just a little over 4 months till our wedding. I am having a hard time with getting things in order, doing school, making it to all my appointments with bishops, doctors and counselors, and working close to full time as well as planning our wedding and our life after that.
Right now we are in the process of finding an apartment, planning our budget, saving money for deposits and bills...
I am glad I love Dan because, well, I don't think I would go through all of this work and stress for anyone else. I never complain about doing most of the planning, he is so busy with school and I want that to be his main focus.
Anyway we are working hard together to be prepared for our future and I am proud of both of us for the decisions we have made in regards to our marriage and nothing can change that.

A De-Caffinated Life

That right their, that little drawing, its been a friend to me for the past 8 years I would guess. I have never in that time quite drinking it. I have transitioned of its origin (regular to diet) but never have I stopped.
Well its been 2 weeks now and I have not been able to drink a single carbonated beverage due to the medication I am on (it makes it taste like rusted metal burning my thoat).
I kind of miss caffeine, but in general, I feel better. Bonus, I drink water now!

I HATE SNOW

I cannot tell you how much I hate the COLD, SNOW AND ICE! When the sky is blue, I have less anxiety, less stress, clear thoughts, and no repressed rage. When it starts to get cloudy, I worry... when little flakes start to fall I start to have little panic attacks in my brain, and when the down pour of snow happens, I completely freak out. I stress about walking in the snow, staying warm while I walk in the snow, falling on the ice and most importantly, myself or Daniel getting in some fatal accident because of SNOW!
I have come to the conclusion that I am not allowed to drive in the snow... its either A) my car does not have suitable tires to drive on snow and ice or B) I am incapable of keeping control of my car on snow and ice. I know which one it probably is so I just don't drive in the snow!

Off to work I go
So I decided even thou my eyes are shot to hell and I feel like crap... I HAVE TO GO BACK TO WORK! I have been out for almost a week and a half and am doing a lot better. I have to stop being a baby and get out of my house. TONS OF PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY BLIND AND THEY GO TO WORK! I am just having a tough time adjusting to my new vision impairment. Driving is not a possibility and walking on the ice makes me look like a clown cause I can't see which spots actually have ice or are just the ghost image of what I am really seeing. BLAH!
So goal is go get a bus pass... and force myself to work!

Medical Mysteries are fun and games!
So after weeks of horrible migraine headaches and neck pain, and numerous doctors telling me that I am A) too stressed B) dehydrated and C) developing migraines... I was at a loss for words. We went to the ER two Wednesday's ago and they sent us home with pain meds (which didn't help the pain) and a note saying that they didn't believe anything serious was causing my pain. So basically I am a stressed out dehydrated girl developing migraines for the first time in her life. All of which still may be true.
I had suffered through Christmas break with migraines and a car wreck but then all of a sudden about a week ago, I got double vision! Ever crossed your eyes and have your parents tell you that if you do that too much it will get stuck... well mine got stuck around age 21! I was having a fit. That was the final straw... that was the "something must be really wrong here." Dan's mom called their eye doctor and he talked to me on Sunday and got me to come into his office the next morning. After running a bunch of tests and looking at my eyes he told me that my optic nerves were swollen and that I most likely had something called "Idiopathic Intercranial Hypertension" aka a Pseudotumor. Ever heard of it? No? Neither had I.
Well a million doctor's later, a spinal tap and a nice hour and a half MRI tell me that yep I have Idiopathic Intercranial Hypertension. Basically my body is behaving as if I have a brain tumor but their is no tumor their, silly body, quit trying to kill me, its not a tumor!!
I am exhausted, and thankfully after almost a full week I can say my vision is improving, my taste buds are ruined due to the medication and diet coke taste like battery acid, and I will soon be on the road to better health.
This week my plans are to: go back to work, go back to school, and not lose my eye sight!

Crappy New Year
Started the year off with a rather messy accident trying to drive back up to Utah and now I have been in and out of doctors offices and the hospital due to migraine, neck and head pain, blurred and double vision. It has been rather grand I must say. Not~
