Thank you Ava

My first Mother's Day:
My Second Mother's Day: Today should be a day to celebrate my little Ava for making me a Mom. It has been exactly 2 years since we decided we wanted to start trying for a baby. I remember coming home from church on Mother's Day crying and devastated that I had been recently told that I A) shouldn't get pregnant and B) probably couldn't get pregnant. Within the week after mother's day we decided that we weren't going to go along with what the doctors were telling us and that was the best decision of our lives! I pray for the day that we will be able to get pregnant again and although its not as 'easy' as it was last time I know our next child will be worth the wait.

The Luckiest

I find it hard to put into words how much I love Ava. Every time I listen to the song "the luckiest" by Ben Folds, my heart gets full because that's how I feel about Ava (even though technically I know he didn't write that about his child).

I feel like I have made so many many mistakes in my life and somehow everything I've done has brought me to this moment. This moment where I'm a mom and Ava is my everything. I am the luckiest. I'm thankful for every mistake, every tear, every hardship I've had to face. Everything I've had to go through growing up has shaped me into a better person, for her.

This Mother's day I'm so thankful for my mom and for my future little mommy, Ava. I know she came first in our family for a reason. She loves other children and she already acts like a little mom at 1. I can't wait till she's a big sister.

Mother's Day

I cannot believe I am a mom. I never thought I would be a mom. Last Mother's day was particularly difficult, I came home crying after church because of my heightened emotions and sensitivity about becoming a mom someday. It didn't matter what anyone said that day, I was upset.

This year has been the craziest year of my entire life. I met with a doctor right after Mother's day last year that set the ball rolling so that my pregnancy would be possible. He gave me hope when no hope had been given before. I could never have imagined that 1 year later I would have the most beautiful 8 week old little girl in the entire world! I still cannot completely understand how we made it through this year, but we have.
Flowers from all my brothers and Dan to me and my Mom!

Mothers Day

We have had such a nice day. We spent today at Dan's parents and made them dinner! Dan is a good chef! I realized this week that this is my first mother's day that I have not been in Arizona with my Mom. I miss my mom, but I look forward to moving down to Tempe in a month! I love Kathy and it was fun to be able to spend today with her.
