Dan Graduated!!!

I am so proud of my Daniel! He has worked so hard at Neumont and has done so well! I am so happy that he already has a job lined up that he starts one month from today! It is really fun to see this day come because Dan and I met right before he started attending Neumont nearly 2 years ago!
The graduation ceremony was nice and short (compared to mine!) Dan was the cutest one there... it was a nice small class that was graduating and it was so fun to have Matt here from Idaho to share the day with!

Goodbye Biology

I don't have to take Biology 100!!! My petition got approved to use the physiology and microbiology classes I have already taken to count for the Biology 100 class! I don't think I will be as lucky for my Physical Science 100 petition, but I can dream!!! However, I am happy to be one class closer and only one class away from getting my degree!

Graduation

I was so happy to finally walk at graduation! I was surprised to see my name in the program, because they had told me that August graduates would not be listed, but they listed us in our own spot!!! I have heard so many stories this past few weeks about people only having 1 or 2 more classes to finish and not finishing! I am too determined not to finish, hopefully I will feel like a real graduate once I finish my 2 online classes!!!

Graduation day was so much fun. We picked up my Mom from the airport and went straight to get french toast from Kneaders! After that we got ready and went to take pictures at the duck pond on campus with my Mom and Dan. When we were leaving the pond, a man driving a tractor pulled over. I was confused for a moment and then realized it was our wonderful bishop, Bishop Engelhardt!!! It was so fun to see him and introduce him to my Mom!

We then got an amazing parking spot right near the Smith Field House and grabbed a Jamba Juice before the ceremony! We got there right when the School of Engineering was getting out so we got great seats that happened to be right behind our dear friends, the Shakespaeres! Dan had fun playing with Manix during Graduation!

Graduation was long but fun. There were 4 people from our BYU ward that were graduating, Emily Dixon, Dujuan Shakespaere, Allen Christensen and I. There were also 4 people from my home ward that were graduating, Sean Sitton, Josh Holm, Taryn Salmon and I. It was great.

After graduation we went to PF Changs and had delicous food and then we all crashed at the Calkins!

Tomorrow we are going through the Temple and I am soooo beyond excited!!!

Going to be the Best Weekend Ever?

Its taken me 5 long years to graduate and I cannot believe that my graduation is this week!!! I am so excited that Dan and I are going through the Temple on Saturday. I feel so blessed. I am so glad we made this decision and never thought this weekend would come!It has taken well over a year to get to this point since we decided that we wanted to go through the Temple and be sealed. It has been a long road and I know the next 2 months before our sealing will feel like forever, but I am so excited, regardless! I know the past few months have seemed to drag by. Since Saturday every minute seems to go on forever. Sunday morning I woke from a wonderful dream that it was Saturday April 25th and we were going to the Temple. I was sad when I realized it was just a dream. Just a few more days and my dream comes true :)I am really thankful for everyone who has helped us and encouraged us. We know we moved into our apartment for a reason and were blessed with such a wonderful and supportive ward. We have felt so welcome and loved. I am going to miss the friends I made this year, it has been so wonderful! I don't think Dan and I could have asked for a better Bishop! He has been our number one fan since the first day he met us! I adore him!

YAY!!!!!

Finals are going to be the end of me

I am so exhausted... I have been sitting on a hard wooden chair in front of my computer for more hours than I can count... OH PLEASE LET THIS BE OVER!

I should be happy with my 11 credit hour schedule plus 25 hour work week this semester... Because next semester... I get to live this fun little schedule! Thats right... 20 hours at the Health Department unpaid, 17 hours paid at the University Accessibility Center and 15 Credits of classes!!!!!!! (6 are my internship credit hours)

I cannot wait for the day I GRADUATE! I walk April 23rd however will still need to complete my Gerontology internship in spring... so I will OFFICIALLY be done with BYU the end of June!

Fall is here!

So far I am 3 weeks into school and everything is going well! I haven't missed a class yet which is quite a success for me. My classes aren't too bad and this is my last semester with a full class load. I have already started doing some research into what I would like to do for my internship. So far I have decided that I am minoring in Gerontology and that I want to do my 9 credits of internship at Jamestown Assisted Living in Provo. Its just 3 miles away and I would be planning activities for the seniors that live there. I am looking forward to walking during the April graduation and finishing up with my internship in June!

We celebrated Dans 22nd birthday this past week! His birthday was on the 18th but we started celebrating the Saturday before! He had a great birthday and I want to thank everyone who made it a great week for him even though he had finals! We also celebrated my sister in law Kandace's birthday and my father in law Mark's birthday this last week!

I have to say that I am so proud of Dan. He has just finished his 5th quarter at Neumont University and got amazing grades!! He has 3 quarters left and I am so excited for him to start his career. We have discussed our post grad plans and are hoping that Dan has a job lined up before he graduates. I am hoping that we can move to either Las Vegas or Phoenix. Those would be my top two places to live! Either way I am looking forward to finding a full time job at a senior center or assisted living home as well as becoming a Certified Nurses Assistant.

Yesterday we went car shopping (not for now but hopefully the near future)! I officially hate shopping at dealerships but we drove some cool cars! We are looking at getting a Hybrid and so we looked at the Toyota Prius, Camry, and Highlander! Dan and I agreed that the Prius (although gets about 45 mpg) is very small and has an obstructed rear visual field. Dan loved the Camry, it was tons more roomy and has a sleek design. I loved the Highlander for its 3 rows of seats and SUV style while still getting almost 30 mpg! For now we don't have to worry about it but I look forward to getting a new car in the future!

Anyway, Fall is here which means winter is around the corner. I truly hope that next winter we will be living somewhere a little warmer!!

Half Day

I had a half day from work today due to BYU graduation (NEXT YEAR IT WILL BE ME!)

I had a few ideas of what I could do with my afternoon off... 1st go see a movie and 2nd go on a hike. I decided to take the hike. Going to the movie would enable me to escape my life for an hour and a half and the hike would make me think about my life for an hour and a half.

I have not hiked my favorite little hike up at vivian park up Provo canyon in a year. I love this hike because I have been taking it every summer that I have lived here in Provo. At my best condition (which I am not at or close to right now) I could run the trail and loved it. Today I simply walked and huff and puffed my way through my thoughts. I thought about what is important to me and what kind of person I want to be. I can be a pessimist and often feel like something bad is going to happen.

I think the thing I need to focus on is not when life is going to end but what I am doing while I am alive. Does my husband know how much I absolutely love him? Does my mom know how much she has done for me and taught me? Does my family know how much I need them as a support and how much I love spending time with them? and the list goes on and on. I fear for so much but sometimes I forget to live instead of just be afraid.

I love Daniel. I think thats the thing I thought about the most on my hike. I love him and I want to be the women he deserves because he is more than the man I deserve. I have never had someone so patient with me when I can be so inpatient and often say something and just kick myself for having opened my mouth. I want to work towards being a better person for myself and for the one person I love more than anything in my life.

I think I picked the right afternoon activity. When the hike was over all I wanted to do was see my Daniel and hold him.
